Welcome Antony Ruenes to the 2012 (Gaastra/Tabou) Competition Team! 22 year old super talent from France finished in his comeback year 2011 the PWA tour in excellent 7th position with the best result, a 4th, at Lanzarote. He already sailed on Tabou boards in 2011. Now he also will compete on Gaastra sails and left Simmer Style. Antony was one of the sailors, who pushed the Shaka move to the limit, when the new school freestyle got popular.

One of the most talented freestyle sailors on the planet, Antony Ruenes is poised for a comeback after some nagging injuries that kept him down for the past couple seasons. Gaastra/Tabou are proud to welcome him back to the team for this coming season and beyond.

“Antony was someone I have always been impressed with- he has a unique style and has potential to win contests!” says Matt Pritchard, Int Team Manager.
“Antony lives in France and is pushing the envelope coming up with new ways to jump, spin and slide through the life of being a professional windsurfer.”

When asked about his new gear, he had this to say…. “by the way the sails are sick!!!!!! super happy!”  (Antony Ruenes)

Look for Antony to join his teammates, Davy Scheffers, Tonky Frans, Thomas Traversa and Alex Mussolini in the winner’s circle. Tabou/Gaastra now has an extremely strong freestyle team, which will will compete with a lot of style in the 2012 PWA events. Good luck to Antony on his new sails, which were the weapons of the current world champion Steven van Broeckhoven.
