Lennart Neubauer is taking his windsurfing game to the next level! The Greek windsurfing pro from the island of Naxos has been pushing boundaries and shredding hard in the Canary Islands, where he claimed victory at the PWA Freestyle Windsurfing World Cup in Sotavento, Fuerteventura.
One of the standout moments from his journey? A filming session with our friend and Austrian filmmaker Matthias Reich. Known for his work in the international skateboarding and snowboarding scene, Matthias brings his unique vision to windsurfing, especially after working for the Red Bull cinema production “Born to Windsurf,” which tells the story of Björn Dunkerbeck.
A passionate wave windsurfer himself, Matthias also tears it up and snowboards during the winter, always on the hunt for the perfect shot.
This time, Matthias teamed up with Lennart, who’s back stronger than ever after a tough knee injury. Lennart is currently dominating the PWA World rankings in Freestyle windsurfing, his favorite discipline.

In this 2-minute, 18-second clip, Matthias captures Lennart’s pure passion and ambitious goals. From landing insane double and triple moves in the high-wind paradise of the Canaries to showcasing his ever-improving wave skills, Lennart is on a mission to claim the world title in Freestyle windsurfing one day.

I filmed a quick profile with Freestyle Vice-World Champion Lennart Neubauer at the Windsurf Wave Mecca in Pozo Izquierdo. The combination of powerful winds, robust waves, and crystal-clear waters makes this place a prime destination for professional windsurfers. The beach’s exceptional conditions attract athletes from all over the world, seeking to challenge the waves and wind in this corner of Gran Canaria. Matthias Reich, filmer and producer
